Quiet

The Autumn Equinox is almost upon us. For me, the year seems to be galloping through its cycle very quickly.
It was at the time of the Spring Equinox in mid-March that I first moved to isolate myself. My intention was to avoid illness for myself, and to avoid becoming an unwitting viral vector, distributing ill-health to others. 

I have always revelled in my time alone, and I was unconcerned by the prospect of a few weeks of Me Time. As the weeks and months have rolled by, I have become acutely aware of my own predilection for solitude, as well as a willingness for these conditions to continue for many more solstices and equinoxes. What I have discovered so far will inform the rest of my life, I am sure.  I have come to realize just how much of the busy-ness and activity that filled my days was not only unnecessary but downright draining. 
I recognize that I am exceptionally privileged to be able to continue to work from home. I have the technology to meet clients as well as to socialize on-line, and I certainly use those tools, daily.
Being alone and in charge of when and whether I hold conversations has been profoundly liberating. The only deadline I imposed on myself is the Friday 2 p.m. FaceBook Live which I continue to host, now at around 25 weeks in a row.    
The rest of the week is mine to spend as I choose. 

I meditate, I read, I write – a great deal. I have spent time sorting through some neglected files and storage boxes, finding treasures as well as wondering what motivated some of the choices I made in selecting keepsakes. 
Sometimes I simply sit in the quiet. I may have recorded music playing, or may be listening to the wind in the trees outside my open window. When it rains I can hear the irregular rhythm of water dripping onto the ground. 
At dawn I hear the morning chorus, birds I recognize by their calls, and others which are new to me. I wonder whether they are new to the area, or if I was simply not paying attention when I was rushing off, hither and yon.
There was a deeper quiet in the beginning, when most workplaces were closed, and only the most essential workers were on the move. Traffic has grown a little heavier of late, although certainly not at pre-Corona levels.

The quiet is like a blanket over my small corner of life.
I can hear and enjoy my inner dialogue. When I shift my attention I can hear my breath and marvel at the miracle of my own life.
Then I can open FaceBook and draw cards, live, for people in New Zealand and India and Vancouver and Glasgow. Amazing!
Albert Einstein famously said  “There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” I know which I choose.

Knowing

Knowing
The third eye or pineal eye is the name given to the place above and between our two physical eyes. 

One of the labels used about the third eye is “Knowledge without Learning”. It shifts away from the idea that information comes from outside the mind.  
When we read a book we gain learning which can be remembered later.  We know things because the author presented them to us, we saw them through our two physical eyes, and took the words and ideas into our memory.

     The Four Energy of 2020** is greatly amplified during September. As the Ninth month, September adds with the Four of the year, creating a Thirteen. Adding the One and Three together we arrive at Four, once more.
